ON BEYOND GREEN

TOWARD-DECAYTOWARD DECAY

We often forego and forget about what's not green in the forest.   Our own fade-to-gray we glitter with everlasting gold pavements refusing to see even in our own dusty, daily decomposition how the coppery fade and fall of ponderosa needles fuels the rise of next year's flight of fritillaries or the high-altitude bloom of Mariposa Lilies, or how the symbiotic growth of lichen tell-tales the health of the atmosphere.

We are all food.

We are all waste.

Saving either draws flies.
